Welcome to the Hicke Lab!

Our lab is dedicated to understanding how Monoubiquitin regulates the down regulation of signaling receptors through the endocytic pathway.

Regulation of endocytic cargo and endocytic machinery by monoubiquitin signals is crucial for normal cell growth and differentiation. Several human diseases, including cancer and a severe inherited form of hypertension result when this regulatory mechanism is upset or goes awry.

To understand the regulation of endocytosis by monoubiquitin, most of our experiments are conducted with the budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

To learn more about our work on endocytosis and ubiquitin, please browse our website. If you are interested in working with us, please check out our contact page to learn how to reach us.
