Fluorescence/Chemiluminescence Plate Reader
The Gemini EM Fluorescence/Chemiluminescence Plate reader complements the facility's fluorimeters PC1 and K2 by accommodating high throughput fluorescence experiments.
- Dual monochromators, allowing the determination of optimal excitation and emission settings in 1 nm increments
- Top and bottom reading options, allowing measurements for both solution and cell-based assays
- Well scanning, i.e. it can report a single point from the well center, or multiple data points from the bottom of large well tissue culture plates.
- Auto PMT gain: Because a single microplate often presents a range of fluorescence intensities greater than three orders of magnitude, the photomultiplier gain is adjusted accordingly to avoid detector saturation. The signal is calibrated against an internal standard, so the reported RFU values of individual samples can be accurately compared
- Multiple microplate formats: suited for 6, 12, 24, 48, 96, 384 well plates
