Stopped Flow Spectrometer
This instrument is a powerful workstation for kinetic studies:
- Single mixing stopped flow experiments (A+B), mixing reagents in equal or different proportions.
- Sequential mixing stopped flow experiments (A+B=M, then M+C as observed event).
- 2 monochromators which can be used separately for excitation and emission or set up in tandem for better stray light rejection, allowing reliable performance in the far UV (250-205 nm) and accurate measurements of large absorptions (1.5-2 AU).
- The dual detection option allows absorption and fluorescence data to be collected simultaneously.
- A diode array detector (200-800nm) provides a convenient multiwavelength absorption capability.
- Fluorescence data may be measured with cut-on/cut-off filters or using the monochromators.
- T-format for fluorescence intensity and anisotropy/polarization experiments.
- A set of tonometers and a special mounting device allow experiments under anaerobic conditions.
- A water bath keeps your reagents under predefined temperature conditions during the experiment.
The Keck Facility provides a collection of cut-on filters.
