The research and training efforts of faculty in the Hormone Action & Signal
Transduction concentration is coordinated through the Center for Reproductive
Sciences whose dual mission is enhancing research in reproductive biology
and its applications to human welfare, and optimizing the training of
future research and teaching scientists in the broad area of reproductive
biology. The training in this concentration area expands on IBiS
core courses with recommended specialized courses that include animal
physiology, vertebrae endocrinology, developmental biology, neuroendocrinology,
and human reproductive ecology. The focus of the training is interdisciplinary
education through these specialized courses in advanced topics, and integration
of several disciplines which often involve collaborative efforts between
preceptors from various fields. Outstanding students in this concentration
may be nominated for support by the Training Program in Reproductive
Biology.
