All students who enter the IBiS program receive full tuition support and a stipend as long as they maintain a good academic standing. The IBiS program awards funding in the form of fellowships and assistantships. The stipend for academic year 2008-09 wil be $26,250 which will be paid out over a twelve-month period.

The IBiS Program covers the premiums for health and dental insurance
available through Northwestern University. For the academic year 2008-09,
the health insurance premium is $2,360. For information on the current
health insurance plan, please refer to the Office of Risk Management
http://www.northwestern.edu/risk/. Dental plan premiums offered through
Aetna Student Health (www.aetnastudenthealth.com) or Sherman Dental
Associates (http://www.shermandental.org/) will be reimbursed by the IBiS
program or student's PI. Insurance through a private provider, private
health/dental providers, including those through parents and spouses or
partners, are not covered by TGS or IBiS. Proof of insurance coverage (NU or
private insurance coverage) will need to be produced for registration
purposes.
