Overview of Outreach
The Morimoto Laboratory and Northwestern University are actively involved with grade school students through the programs L.A.B.S. and Project Excite, which are designed to spark kids' interest in math and science and improve their skills in these disciplines.
L.A.B.S. (Laboratory Adventures in the Biological Sciences) was created by the Morimoto Laboratory and is eagerly awaited each spring by the area's grade school children for the fun,
hands-on science they get to do in our lab.
The Morimoto Laboratory also welcomes students from Project Excite, a Center for Talent Development program,
which supports minority students in their math and science studies.
Many Evanston Township High School students have fulfilled the obligations of their biology internship by doing research alongside lab members.
