Undergraduates

Select undergraduate students can carry out independent research projects and honors theses (398, 399) in the Widom group.

We particularly encourage inquiries from undergraduate students with majors in computer science, ISP, or bioinformatics. Multiple projects at the interface of molecular biology, physical and biophysical science, and genomics are available. Ideally students will participate for several quarters or more, although shorter periods can be considered.

From time to time we can accommodate undergraduate students interested in laboratory work. Students wishing to engage in such work should generally have backgrounds in ISP, biology, or chemistry, and must be willing to commit substantial blocks of time for a period of two or more years, generally including summers.

Interested students should contact Dr. Widom by e-mail.
